Today the first year of my professorship at ETH Zürich ends - incredibly proud of what we have built up and achieved together! Four more years to find a new position before the current one expires... 🎂⏳🤔

Today would be the 100th birthday of Gunther Stent, a giant of phage biology (and other things). His memoirs "Nazis, Women, and molecular biology" is a must-read, not just for his story but also because his ambition + self-doubt ring deeply in all of us. tinyurl.com/yc78kcje

If you are in Copenhagen, join us for a "Phage Phestival" tomorrow with talks by @linsalrob.bsky.social and myself at 10am in Festauditoriet / Bülowsvej 🧬🎇🇩🇰! We are both around for PhD defenses and Lone Brøndsted + Lars H Hansen brought us together for this nice event 😁.

The "PIs of Tomorrow" competition of Life Sciences Switzerland in Lausanne - when I participated as a PostDoc it was the one day where I learned most about academic careers. Happy to return today as part of the jury! 🤗🙏🏼

It's a bit of a mess due to my scattered research history, but "Bartonella - FIC - persister - antibiotic - phage" describes the trajectory pretty well!
