I'm hearing and reading so many stories about how the dock workers strike could wreak havoc on our supply chain and all I can think is, well then you better pay them what they're asking. Seems like an easy solution. 🤷🏻‍♀️

via David Hudson on the occasion of Steve Reich's 88th birthday, comes Reich's Freehand Watermark Tracing etchings, made in 1978 when he couldn't write an essay for another project he was doing with Crown Point Press. I am transfixed. greg.org/archive/2024...

steve reich's freehand watermark tracings are a dense and slightly wobbly mesh of short horizontal lines interspersed with six vertical lines, all the size of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper because that is what reich traced from to make this etching, which is printed in black on a larger 17x14 inch sheet of cream colored art paper. via crown point press, c. 1978. from the collection of the madison museum of contemporary art, in this case.

BRO JUST WIPE IT ALL OUT. No elaborate paperwork or tier systems, no applying, no waiting. Make the October Surprise a good one for a change. Cancel the loans and shred the records. It’s an official act and the Supreme Court said you’re the king!

That…wasn’t luck

But Trump lucked out. The “Access Hollywood” scandal flamed bright and fast and died out just as quickly. About a half-hour after the tape was published, WikiLeaks conveniently began posting emails Russian hackers had stolen from the account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair. [Highlighting begins] The news cycle swiveled away. [Highlighting ends]
