Upon rewatch, the Star Wars Episode 1-3 trilogy is actually a solid premise. The story beats are mostly fine. It's the godawful writing that tanks the movies. Like it isn't explained how strong emotions are antithetical to the Jedi way, but Anakin has so many red flags early on.

Without calling more attention to it or slow rolling it, it just makes the character seem like a petulant child. The animated series fixes this but still, these movies are shamefully awkward.
