Churches being tax exempt is an historical anomaly. The core reason they were exempt is bc they provided welfare to the destitute. As the state progressively took on that role, less need for churches to be exempt. Sooner they are taxed on their land values and income, the better.

Its the entire lack of response from politicians that turns me off them and away from the party they represent. If politicians are there for the people, why dont they engage with the clearly hinged responses and ignore the bots that clearly seek division? Difficult to address the bots.
This is partly why I made the decision to escape to Brisbane in November 2023 (and no desire to live under another backward Nat govt). I now pay $15 a pop for a CGM, $15 gets me about 9 months supply of both insulins (cf to $10/3 mthly in nz), free needles and better access to endocrinologists.
