SCOOP: I got a copy of J.D. Vance's foreword to Kevin Roberts's upcoming Project 2025 book. You can read it here newrepublic.com/article/1843...
Trump’s running mate writes that “it’s time to circle the wagons and load the muskets.”
The garden analogy he uses is deeply flawed.
For someone who wrote a best-selling book, he's not a very good writer. "We need an offensive conservatism" OK, I think that's pretty much a given.
This will sure help Trump distance himself from the Project 2025 plot to turn the US into a fascist state.
That mangled Pulp Fiction analogy is disqualification enough for me, he should be kicked out of the senate for it, let alone be allowed to run for vice president. I don’t know whether to think he’s never seen it, or if it’s the only film he’s seen so he shoehorns references to it into everything.
I think you could compare Vance’s metaphorical musings about gardens to those of Chance, the gardener, in the book/movie “Being There”. And maybe that movie is a metaphor for Vance’s life…

Really was not expecting Netgalley to play a role in the 2024 election, and yet.
Now it's time to circle the couches.
This is jarring. It's 50% weird, 50% railing against corporatism and free market absolutism.
Load the muskets? Lmao dude has never fucking touched a flintlock muzzle loader in his life.
