In conversations I’ve been having with fellow settlers this year, there’s been a lot about the language we use and not being “confrontational.” But truth requires us to be confrontational with ourselves and our systems. Settlers don’t get to decide how the story gets told.
We do not get to make it more palatable. We need to hold space for our discomfort and what we plan to do with it - and how we will live truth, so that we can move toward reconciliation.
