Why do you think that is? Increase in vans seems easy to explain (online deliveries) but the cost of buying a car has gone up a lot, so why are more driving and fewer cycling?
Among other things, I wonder if it has (further) legitimised deliberately intimidatory driving and verbal abuse. Personal experience only, but definitely more in last 12 months, even round here where so much riding is on dedicated infrastructure.
