You doing things has nothing to do with that. The point is that the tech was made to be worse re the environment for no improvement in utility or even for *less* utility. We don't need that on top of what we already do. Stop being stupid about it.

There's also no reason to assume it will get more efficient. This is not always the case and the plans for always bigger models suggest things are not going to improve, at the very least in the training side
