The whole basis of a reciprocal approach designed to simplify access yet without crossing the actual CU/FOM/SM red lines is finding means through which Labour can keep some of its core support happy without looking as if it is walking back on campaign promises
In terms of Europe policy, Labour is on track to both disappoint a range of EU-friendly or progressive youth voters who might drift off to the Greens or LDs, while because of structural pressures still making concessions to the EU that Reform and Conservatives will claim are "betrayal"
