threads: yet another social media network that doesn't understand that people have multiple personas and want at least some semblance of pseudoanonymity
I wondered if Meta would do the risky but (IMO) more savvy thing of not linking its identity system to FB/Insta; that might indicate it has learnt something about how users approach social networks these days. But nope. It's as out of touch as ever.
Threads is basically what happens when one uses chatgpt for social media. The artificial hype, artificial posts and lack of interaction says it all
If Threads can support Fediverse, doesn't it mean it should allow other identities? 🤔
Oh my god _this right here_. I’m not 💯 anon, but I don’t like being forced to use my real name over there. For some people that’s an outright safety issue as well.
I only shitpost and network in tech on this social format. Mostly here for cat pictures and memes.
I fully expect they understand. I fully expect they don't care.
