There is a great deal of incompetent decision making too. For example there is insufficient water in Cambridge. They propose building a reservoir by 2040 in an area just 1m above (current) sea level. Is this really the best location?

Again in Cambridge they propose a 12km busway for £250m which terminates in a very busy residential road inevitably leading to bus journeys taking much longer. Plans that a 5 year old could tell you are stupid yet somehow these are the best efforts of local government.
