yeah, i feel like i got really unlucky with it tbh, total parts cost probably came to twice the value of the laptop itself :(

i discussed this with some ppl earlier, and a couple said i made a mistake, saying i should've bought a ms surface instead for its build quality & windows integration. idk about you but i want to be able to perform repairs on my laptop if needed i predominantly use some flavour of linux too soooo

I have a virtual machine crunching away on them sequentially now, it started on the biggest archive last night (2.2tb or so) and it's still restoring files beginning with "a" note: the vm isn't on the nas itself because freebsd jail mounts confuse me, so it's gigabit at best!
