Hey, #nativeplants people, there’s a fall sale coming up locally, and I’ve only ever planted new stuff in spring. Fall planting is a thing? The babies won’t freeze in Jan’s inevitable polar vortex? Please reassure me 🙏🌿❄️

Not sure where you’re located and no guarantees on survivorship but fall planting is definitely a thing, and can be better for some plants as they get a chance to spread their roots before the more taxing growth season.

oooh. Fall is the best. So many steals on plants. 80% off sometimes. They get well-watered in before going dormant, have a burst of new growth in early spring and you’re not tempted to plant your whole yard in whatever’s blooming.
