TBH I think he might be the only person writing right now who can even claim the title of "public intellectual," although it's not like I keep current on stuff like that.
It's my belief that if you're a pundit who uses your little essays or TV segments to criticize Ta-Nehisi Coates, you have unfortunately gotten above your station. He's this country's most thoughtful, insightful, and honest public intellectual and I don't think it's close.

Here's an example of a news org framing things in a misleading way. The article very precisely notes she lost 4083 followers but does not mention that her accounts have 5.6 MILLION followers combined. She's lost 0.073% of her following. I think she'll be fine. www.newsweek.com/alex-cooper-...
