Long, tough day yesterday. My dad's doctors called a family conference, basically to let us know they wouldn't suggest more aggressive or invasive treatments, to discuss what might happen in a resuscitation situation, to discuss hospice or other end of life care, answer any questions we have, etc.

The situation is sad. But my dad has really good doctors with thoughtful bedside manner. One of my biggest fears has been that the pancreatic cancer would see him suffering a lot of pain. But they were clear they have many options for pain management, and that's helped me feel less afraid for him.
