There is no amount of increasing border enforcement or deporting people that will ever make the American right wing believe the border is being properly handled by a democratic president. Any compromise on this is just a signal that they can demand more & keep the issue live. Immoral, bad politics.
Not addressing unfettered illegal immigration is a policy of failure, though
Unfortunately in a key example where a tough attitude to a dangerously harmful economic migrant would have been fully justified, it's too late to deport Rupert Murdoch.
Just abolish border allready. Land belongs to no-one.
Translate this into French and cc: Macron.
Completely true. And, even if they privately believed the border was better, they won't stop running on it until (several cycles after) it stops working.
To say nothing about how militarization of 'the border' costs dems left wing voters!
The point is not to convince the right wing - it is to trade border enforcement for a higher quota on permanent residents
the Republican agenda re: immigration is to denaturalize even "legal" and "good" citizens who were pre-ICE and came "the right way"
Absolutely right about that!
Generally agreed, but how do you get funding to Ukraine given the situation that we're in with the legislature?
