i think my understanding of what a "big jump" was was definitely lower than 40, like...maybe in the 15-20 range. i was also doing the job search intensely last year and based on that i thought i understood what the upper bound of compensation looked like for me...and it was definitely not 40 haha

I need to reevaluate what my position is worth. I year and change ago I took a position that gave me more than the upper range of what I was asking for. Either they REALLY liked me, or I'm not asking enough
