That the question "are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?" has become a gotcha for the Harris campaign is just bizarre to me. Four years ago we were quarantining at home amid mass death, a mismanaged pandemic, and widespread unemployment. We are better off now and it's not a close call.

Right but I doubt it would be a good campaign choice for Harris to blame Trump wholly for COVID. The truth is always better. COVID damaged the world economy, Trump's response to COVID was deranged (except for developing the vaccine), Biden/Harris did better than the rest of the world at US recovery.

Schools closed under Trump and reopened under Biden. I don’t know why the Harris campaign doesn’t talk about that.

It would be interesting to see a poll for those that answer No to that question who also believe COVID was a hoax.

I am just going to say that peoples’ experiences of March-Dec 2020 varied. I worked in person, got pay cuts and lost family members while kids were not in school. People who got bonus unemployment + stimulus + worked from home and lost no one? Different story.
