A problem that comes with being a pedant is that when someone threatens you out of anger, it's nearly impossible to resist correcting them if it's not a very good threat, making them even angrier. However, it's not my fault they didn't think their threat through.

Something I did for someone resulted in me receiving a lovely array of herbed and berry-filled cheeses. I'm most excited about the (small) cheese wheel filled with blueberry-like fruit!

Explaining to someone "Oh it's like making a Xor gate in programming when you do this in magic" and then explaining that I actually know very little about programming is getting a little bit embarrassing.

Together we will bully Clive into better medical self-care so that she doesn't give Xenolith a heart attack. It's a public service because he is a benefit to all who have the fortune to befriend him. That's simply how it is.

I am so obviously the sort who thinks highly of myself that whenever anyone says I'm humble I assume they're actually insulting me. Strangely enough I've only been right about that once.

Maybe it was a little big-headed of me to think that I could get away with bargaining for unnamed favours with a nation-state in order for them to be allowed to get forbidden tomes they left behind decades ago, but it worked out in my favour so I certainly won't be pretending I have any humility.

Shadow is back home and safe. Metal and I are looking after her. Her phone is broken, so it may be a little while before she has access to BlueSky again.

I am as ever grateful for the company of Annalise. She has been sleeping with me for the past few nights so that my nightmares aren't as bad, and she helps me to calm down. She's also been making sure I don't spend too much time awake, and reminding me how long it's been since I last ate.
