If I were looking for advice, I don't think I'd take it from an article referring to 'a potential mate'. It's the kind of wording that makes me imagine the writer pushing up his fedora to scratch his greasy scalp and think, 'Where can one procure females?'

It does seem to be a flashing 'We're supported by AI companies' sign. My favourite part of their statement is where it says that their mission is to help people use their voice. Then they go on to say they also want to help people to use other writers' voices, plagiarised by AI...

IG will often suggest Threads posts (I don't have that) of authors complaining about other authors or tearing into their books. Often, they say how bad a book is as a reason to complain how that author got a deal when they can't. Not a great look. They're literally you + one lucky day!

I haven't looked for several years, but last time I did, one of my books had been pirated significantly more times than it has ever sold. I left a polite post asking if people downloading it would mind leaving a review on Goodreads. My post was deleted.

Thanks. I think I primarily do it as an excuse not to actually write.

What DAW are you using? I've been playing with Waveform 11 and wishing these things existed when I was 11 and doing nothing but playing Axel F over and over on my keyboard.

Every genre must have its unelected gatekeepers who think everything within the genre must be written the way they write it, and if you don't, let the beef commence. Or who will put other writers down as way to elevate themselves (they think).
