the winchester house, it was all about paranoid guilt over all the indigenous people killed with her husband's rifles driving her batty enough to bury herself like the minotaur in a maze to keep their spirits at bay
i still think of, reflect on and associate things with, it pretty regularly it just struck me as so damned observant the mom, with her sudden "color storms" that hit at the worst moments—it's basically one of the exact problems i've had for 46 years, and i've never seen it handled so sensitively
