And I'll tell you, at least in tech, if you make it past the initial screen the interview process itself has become so dilatory and time-consuming that it's a whole other form of torture all on its own.

I think it should be illegal not to make an offer or reject by interview number three. Hell two should be more than enough unless it's an extremely specialized or high-trust position.
