Fellow current and former game devs: I'm making a pros and cons list about staying in the industry because this job hunt is giving me an identity crisis! Have you all been there yet? And what was your conclusion?

Hi! I previously worked as a game designer and are currently using my technical know how and design skills in the Arch viz industry. It's tough out there, so looking for opportunities else where until things turns around can be smart. Sometimes you just have to pay the bills and wait it out.

I tried applying for webdev jobs with my UI prog skills some three years ago, and got absolutely nowhere. Now I'm back in games as a contractor, and much happier overall. It's tough out there 🙈

I've been there, in the sense that I've had a gamedev identity crisis and left and.... it's been the best thing I've done! I *am* back, but wouldn't be if I hadn't left.
