Has science answered the question of why loose bag fries are more satisfying than the ones that stay in the container?

They may be more satisfying, but I can’t eat them until I put them back in their little fry home first.

Illusion of 'extra', like we've received more than the exact portion we paid for.. a type of forbidden fruit. Even if you watch people carefully measure out extra fries and deliberately place them in the bag, the illusion holds.
