My own run-in with the New Zealand numbers was five years ago now, and Michael (at hoppiness.co.nz) did a similar exercise a few years after mine. Interesting that Oregon featured so prominently in the "report" I was pushing back against; presumably that number was as shaky as the rest.

I do think if you're mocking up news stories these days you... maybe shouldn't? I know it ruins the fun to put a watermark with THIS IS A JOKE across it but if you don't, some people won't get it. At which point, you've done a misinformation.

Yeah, that was a great tasting session! I had a vague sense that a few of the Pellicle piece's suggestions sounded about right given those tests — which made me want to try all the others, especially the Guinness one — but I couldn't remember the details (or find my copy of the notes).

I always knew of it as a (mythical) way to stop a can foaming up if it'd been shaken. Maybe it's a habit that's carried on from that?
