Transphobia and homophobia have their roots in misogyny and they all reinforce each of those bigotries. There are no safe places from the ones who want to control you, unless you are part of the group who does the controlling.

It also feels like the audience for those attacks is greatly diminished. The people making them can still claim power and must be defeated but I don’t think the coalition that responds to those attacks is as large as it might have been. Times have changed.

And not to diminish that message in any way, attacks on ‘immigrants’ will target anyone a different color. Attacks on poor people, attacks on non-neurotypical … they’re all feet in the door to start othering and dividing the power of the majority against these freaks.
