X-men, the metaphor for the civil rights movement in the 1960s, the X-Men whose reboot in the mid 70s had a Native American, a Russian and a Kenyan Demi-goddess who lost her powers and still fought and beat Cyclops to become leader of the group, *that* X-men’s gone woke, apparently.

Trying to imagine someone who has read one single issue of X-Men not realising that the phrase “X-Men gone woke” is one of the funniest things in the universe

I know Bryan Singer's subsequently fucked up, but even as a CIS straight white non-comic reader I could tell X Men 2 was basically a coming out film

If these people knew Bobby/Iceman was gay they'd be very upset!
