We could have pushed for comprehensive abortion training in medical and even nursing schools (basic D&C can be done by nurse practitioners) and made sure health care was accessible to all in community health care centers so women got this care in the same buildings as pediatricians and podiatrists

And women could have gotten much of this care from their GPs or at least an ob/gyn practice The segregation of “women’s health” was a necessity in a hostile health care system, something that we could have been addressing so it was more invisible and normalized within the context of medical care
