think the preeminence of euro often white racist culture doesn’t have big cats and when they do it’s often orientalism like the cats in Kipling mowgli in colonized India or lion king colonized Africa The cats stand in for indigenous cultures , whereas wolves I think represent something less human

Interesting. There's also the way lions have been associated with royalty and nobility; Richard the Lionheart, etc. We've romanticized them while wolves are often used to represent someone sneaky and underhanded.
