Yea you are right, I don't think I heard GFX till the spam bots came my way to draw. Like I am an artist, I just say I am a digital artist, or just artist, I don't even know what GFX stands for.

I remember seeing GFX/VFX discord communities back in 2018 before vtubers. It was... A short way to say design graphics and motion graphics. A handful made those generic XxX_gamer_XxX graphics by hand back then but It was almost daily to see stolen designs :/

GFX is basically shorthand for "graphics". I also didn't see any legitimate designer use that in their branding when I went to college except for these fucking bots. 🤬
