how much longer until health insurance won’t cover therapy until you’ve had at least 12 sessions with the ai chatbot they trained on the relationship advice subreddit?
“It’s really meant to be this sort of empathetic companion to someone along their Headspace journey,” said Headspace’s senior product manager for conversational AI.
Called Ebb, the chatbot was trained by clinical psychologists and data scientists to help people make positive behavioral changes with motivational interviewing.
i’d rather just kms honestly
AI's just an ordered algorithm it's easy to manipulate & exploit actually
Honestly from the AI side I'm more worried about completely unaccountable people being able to both record and manipulate therapy sessions people are using anonymously. On the health insurance side, this would change nothing: for-profit health insurance can only be a scam and should be illegal
I found Headspace with actual therapists to be subpar as far as therapy goes. Adding AI chatbots does not seem like an improvement!
me: headspace AI chatbot, i am feeling anxious 😔 headspace AI chatbot: dam that’s crazy. heil hitler !
