All options, eh? I look forward to the thoughtful consideration of road congestion pricing in Ontario then!
Cheap energy applies there too, but yes, you’re stuck with much higher distribution fees.
And one piece of advice, when shopping for a variable rate, check the admin or "membership" fees. Some low "wholesale + $0c!" deals bake in high $/day admin fees that make all but the largest users worse off.
For those asking what I'm doing (and this is just *me*, not advice!), I'm on a cheap winter fixed rate of 6.7c and then i'll go floating in March. For NG i'm floating.
A reminder: Cheap power prices have returned to Alberta. If you saved money on a fixed rate during the price spike of the past 3 years, it may time to shop around for a better rate or consider market floating. Forward prices point to continued lower prices. 🔌💡
At $3/MWh, yesterday was the 2nd lower daily average price in the history of Alberta’s power pool. The past month has seen the lowest, 2nd lowest and 4th lowest daily power prices in 25 years. 🔌💡
It’s the price floor for Alberta.
