I agree. Yet the issue has been about *personal* donations to people within the Labour Party rather than donations to the party itself.

Labour have a manifesto commitment to "protect democracy by strengthening the rules around donations to political parties." Now would be a very good time to knock the donation scandal on the head by acting on it, and clean up political funding at last
