Common Lizard, Picromerus bidens & a weevil, all seen yesterday at Ynyslas on the Dyfi estuary. All destined for #iRecord the weevil might not make it if I cannot get an ID that seems reasonable thinking maybe Sitona lineatus at present.

I have already posted one I know, but they are such magnificent creatures I could not resist and this one is quite different as it has a beetle as prey. From Amberslade Bottom NF today. #UKsoldierflyrecording#insects@kitenet.bsky.social

Two for the price of one, Hornet Robberfly (Asilus crabroniformis) with a Woodland Grasshopper (Omocestus rufipes) for iRecord in the New Forest this afternoon. What a beast! #soldierflies#insects#NewForest

Creeping toward the 150 spp target for the LepeCP patch, just 2 away now. Added Pied Flycatcher today, now confirmed there were actually two present, I suspected so but could not be certain. #birds#hantsbirds

Calshot Spit, Hants, today, until this dog-walker and a group of kayakers arrived there were 200+ Ringed Plover, 300+ terns lots of gulls and smaller numbers of other waders roosting (1000 or so birds in all). We really need to treat our designated sites and red-listed species better than this.

A day col-ring reading 8 Oicks, 3 Med Gull, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Curlew and this Sandwich Tern (red HAC) logged, some local some from mainland Europe. A B-h from yesterday had travelled nearly 1400km from Poland since being ringed in the nest 90 days ago. @btobirds.bsky.social@wadertales.bsky.social

Short look at So'ton Water from Hythe at LW. 56 Ringed Plover was notable, although none were colour-ringed, which was a surprise. A fishing flock mid-channel included at least 13 Common Tern & 2 1cy Med Gull. #HantsBirds
