FPTP only comes in 1885. 2 party politics as "normal" only really existed 1945-1974. Which is actually quite normal. The only stable 2 party FTPT systems double up with Presidents (US, Korea and Taiwan).

Agreed, by the late 70s and especially early 80s we have a three party system which lasts until the late 2000s. Apart from a brief resurgance of two party politics in 2017, our politics has been splintering since 2010. We now have a five party system alongside a electoral system that cannot cope.
