Gainax — the anime studio once behind Evangelion, Honneamise, Nadia, Gunbuster, Gurren Lagann, and other classics — has filed for bankruptcy.

It could only be more on brand if the paper they used to fax in their bankruptcy filing was already printed with something else on the other side. And the people processing it are kinda confused by some of it.

The fact the the remake of Eva was Anno way of paying the artists and animators from the stolen profits taken by the management says a lot.

Yeah, like... I love much of Gainax's body of work, and I even have more fondness for a certain founder and ex-President than I probably should due to his being a fantastic permaGoH at my 'home' anime con for over a decade-and-a-half that I was attending, but... no lie told here.
