I would be interested if anyone else has examples of this because this is a very intentional attempt to decouple the weekend from Labor Day and the meaning of Labor Day. in fact, this appears to be a very clear escalation of corporate dominance and their erasure of reality.

To be fair, the US Labor Day is already decoupled from the rest of the world who celebrate it on May 1st because the politicians at the time didn't want it associated too strongly with the labor movement because SoCiAlIsM!1!

If any corporate entity would do this, it's Target. Temporary, facile appeals to a demographic (Pride merch) when perceived as profitable, then curb-stomped when it looks like fascism is the new darling.
