This is an important next step in what was already positive momentum in the clean indoor air space. Vic govt already doing a bit, now a federal govt focus. Thanks to so many who have worked toward this. Now for action. www.abc.net.au/news/2024-09...

For many of us, COVID has become just a bad memory, despite its lasting and mixed legacies. But experts are urging that we learn from our mistakes and plan ahead.

In my view, any crowded, poorly ventilated space (like gangplanks & planes bf take off) should be considered increase risk of transmission with CO2 levels a good proxy for this risk. After take off is less clear (safer because the airflow/filters have kicked in although not necessarily risk-free).

Air quality not great when boarding & waiting for planes to take off as I am now - youā€™re breathing a lot of other peopleā€™s exhaled air. As with buses, trams & trains, this is a v good time to wear a respirator mask. Protect yourself & others.

Flu is important, but COVID is next level. From vaccine recommendations to isolation guidance, American leaders seem bent on aligning COVID policies to those for flu. That threatens to minimize the diseaseā€™s still-high toll. www.theatlantic.com/health/archi...

The diseases are nowhere near the same.

This is a big deal - "..implications are far-reaching, from individuals experiencing cognitive struggles to the potential impact on populations & the economy." Mounting research shows that COVID-19 leaves its mark on the brain,... theconversation.com/mounting-res... via @ConversationUS
