I kind of think the Jordan Peterson types are right that there’s a deep hunger among some young men to explore their masculinity and it’s pretty unfortunate that they’ve been duped into thinking weeping beef Professor and homophobic UFC fighter are better options than “guy in town who is good dad”

Even taking a "tough guy" view of masculinity, I don't see what's tougher than sticking up for your neighbors and not letting rich people push you around. They sell you on selfishness to single you out and exploit you.

Or worse, a sex trafficking, sexual assaulting, ex kick-boxer. I think it's also wanting friends, a community and a sense of belonging. They are loners who don't have friends or hobbies. They get into conspiracy theories and white supremacy to fill that void in their lives.

In europe the dad with child image is very common and seen as very masculine :) and i cant lie a dad going to the park with his children has got to be the hottest thing i can imagine a guy do

There really is. I know a few men who I've only known in passing to suddenly latch on to me like some kind of father figure in a kind if quite desperate way because... Honestly I'm not sure why, but certainly not because I wanted them to. I'm not really sure what their goal is either

If anyone is looking for a dad, might I recommend "Big" Ange Postecoglou?

Human Trafficker who flees to Romania and picks fights with teenagers on the internet vs. Guy who volunteers in his community and is nice to people.

One thing that I think came through pretty clearly in this article is that this "hunger" is as much about class as about masculinity. They want to be rich and successful and become convinced that Peterson, Tate, etc hold the secret. nymag.com/intelligence...

What a generation of boys have found in Andrew Tate’s extreme male gospel.
