That's why I tell people who aren't slavering right wing maniacs to call electeds and news orgs. I know who's calling and emailing right now and it's not progressives!
I hear what you're saying but I as a lone working class guy have never been told anything but "go fuck yourself" by the institutions when I make any kind of effort. Like I'm not going to give the receptionist a dressing down. Pretty sure POTUS gets a direct line.
Who should I call? I don’t watch enough to know who’s even worth calling
maybe there needs to be an organization like 'run for something' but 'call about something'
YES, I keep telling people to call newsrooms and they look at me like I have three eyes til I explain this. They think a petition or angry tweets is the same…it is not!
What’s the driving difference between the two groups? Is it some kind of righteousness that conservatives tend to foster that liberals don’t? Did any liberal development of righteousness came post-voice-calling-as-norm…?
Certainly the people calling in death threats and bomb threats aren't. www.npr.org/2024/09/19/n...
It's actually amazing how much 'leftists' push back on the idea of letter writing and calling their reps if it interrupts their revolution fantasies.
The corollary to this is hostile right-wing elected officials/spox telling you that they think you're biased while you're interviewing them. I got one of those recently from Darrell Issa's office and I said "I'm so sorry you feel that way" every time he said it until he hung up on me. Rude prick.
