At almost 52, I've understood that old people are just young people whose bodies have gotten more wear and tear, and who are (hopefully) wiser due to experience. We're all "young" on a more general timescale; there are trees that live for millennia... Our bodies just wear out quickly!
I love this. Seriously, all humanity needs to muster up more respect for our elders.
