Much as I would be amused for this to be true (and am not surprised it's a pre-write), if you look at the actual source it's quoted from you can see it occurs 2 *other* times on the page, one with a date in 2015. It looks to me like part of rendering some kind of collection, perhaps of old columns.
it's possible that this refers to the boilerplate at the end about Ross writing the Deep Places memoir
