Her writing also reminds me of Westerns and hard-boiled crime thrillers, which is not surprising, since she wrote screenplays for several such movies. She also wrote the first draft of the screenplay for The Empire Strikes Back.

Wow, very nice! I recognized this as the cover art for the 1974 Panther publication Lost Worlds Vol. 2 of Clark Ashton Smith stories, but don't think I've seen the whole painting like this before.
