Have you ever gotten up to go do something, walk into the next room, and totally forget what you were there to do? That's DOORWAY EFFECT, a well-studied phenomenon where crossing a boundary subconsciously shifts our focus from short-term memory to a state of alerted awareness.
I always figured it was just my mind being a sieve.

But going back to tbe spot you we're coming from helps
Yup! Knowing what it is, as soon as I realize I've forgotten what I was about to do, I walk back through the doorway and more easily remember what it was. 🙂
And here I thought it was because I'd just had an alien encounter . . .
When this happens, simply go back through the door and you will immediately remember what you were doing. It's just some kind of temporal distortion.
