This here is one of the great U-boat hunters of the Second World War. Grab a comfy seat and a glass of something pleasing. We're going on a journey...

Wren Janet Okell, staring at the camera with a slightly awkward smile. Fair enough - as we'll see, she did her best work hidden behind a screen...

29 September 1941 | A French Jewish boy, Jacques Attas, was born in Marseille. In December 1943 he was deported to Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

A vintage black and white photo of a baby sitting in a small baby stroller, looking directly at the camera. The setting appears to be outdoors with a fence visible in the background.

26 September 1936 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Anne Groenteman (right) was born in Amsterdam. In 1942 she was deported to Auschwitz with her mother Lena and siblings Jeanette & John. All were probably murdered together in a gas chamber.

Three young children posing closely for a black and white photo. The boy on the left has styled hair and wears a sweater, the middle child has short hair and a turtleneck, and the girl on the right has a bob haircut and also wears a sweater.
