Any Kiwi foodies out there? I've been asked by a US friend "what is the best restaurant with a tasting menu in NZ?" Did some research and the names The Grove, Sidart and Rata come up repeatedly. Comments? Opinions? Suggestions?

50-50 in Paraparaumu Beach. An absolute gem of seasonal, locally sourced, NZ food. www.50-50.co.nz

The Grove is truly excellent. The point is just the food -- no scenery or special location.

The Grove is very good - although we haven’t been there for 3 years we are going again very soon. I also had a magical afternoon at the Mudbrick on Waiheke Island a while ago doing a degustation meal while soaking up the late summer sun and views across the harbour back to the city.

The Grove is the nearest thing to Michelin starred restaurant I've been to in NZ
