I really wish people would understand that you're not just voting for the individual president. You're voting for all the people they are going to put in charge of every facet of the US government, all the advisers whispering in their ear, all the judges they are going to appoint (many for life).
Right wing extremists took over our school board this summer. Tonight they rescinded protections for LGBTQIA+ students & laid groundwork to endorse a voucher scam that will cost us tens of millions. All thanks to the 82% of voters in our county who didn't bother to vote in school board elections.
This is what annoyed me so much about the male loneliness discourse: they truly do not believe that women are human, too. There is nothing that an unpartnered man goes through and feels that an unpartnered woman does not. Difference is that the latter is seen as OUR problem; the former, society's.

Meanwhile folks are actually lonely for structural reasons.Public spaces have been dismantled and the only places you can casually meet strangers you have to pay to go.You barely have time for those places even if you can afford them b/c you have to work to pay for housing, healthcare,& education.
