Misato embodies the Millennial struggle because she literally saves the entire world multiple times before she gets a single step up in rank, and even then it's just from "captain" to "major." And apparently this doesn't even come with enough of a pay increase for her to afford a better apartment.

And she lives the consequences of the previous generation destroying earth... to be fair I don't think there even is a better apartment to upgrade to.
