In general, people from former East Germany are less popular, but so are people from states that are net recipients of equalization funds. But we also see a huge difference by East and West German respondents. Only one thing everyone agrees on: People from Berlin are the worst
Speaking of Einheit, does anyone do these graphs for the pre wwii boundaries of Germany? I feel like in 1970s-80s US we didn't get told enough about Poland being moved over and Belarus & Ukraine grown, Germany shrank after wwii. Maybe US education didn't want to admit the USSR had that much power?
The Swabians are just lucky that they have the gentle&popular Badeners in their state, though. Surely they'd be at Berlin levels of unpopular otherwise.
