I'm so glad thank you
Just to say that audiobook of WIFE by @charlottemendelson.bsky.social is *spectacular*. I didn't think you could do it better than Juliet Stevenson did on The Exhibitionist, but evidently you can. (The narrator is Kristin Atherton BTW)
Nobody will remember: - your salary - how “busy you were” - how many hours you worked People will remember: - your vast and trunkless legs of stone - your frown, and wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command - your works, ye Mighty
Thank you !
It's all bloody horrendous, but on a slightly brighter note the roll call of targeted books makes a great to-read or to-buy list.
It's always a delight when your books are featured in the press. Except in this case.... the queer book bans are alive and well in the uk. You can't ban our existence I'm afraid and we will not stop writing books. And blessed are the librarians who fight this crap www.theguardian.com/books/articl...
Index on Censorship said 53% of librarians polled had been asked to remove books – and that in more than half of those cases books were taken off shelves
BSky Brits! I'm working on a piece about councils selling off public assets to raise cash. Or indeed, out of ideological zealotry. Have you spotted anything egregious/concerning on this front near you recently?
Thank you so much xx
